The secret: violet and yellow sit opposite each other on the color wheel, so together they cancel into a natural brown. Blossom pushes that brown warmer, more violet pushes it deeper, and white lifts it lighter. That's how four inks reach every skin tone without carbon black, so deep tones stay warm instead of turning gray or ashy.

Every Skin Tone Has a Starting Point

FITZPATRICK I–II

Light

Start with White

Build up from a white base, adding warmth and flush slowly. White takes color fast, so less is more.

FITZPATRICK III–IV

Medium

Start with Yellow + Blossom

Begin with a warm base, then deepen gradually until it reads tan to brown.

FITZPATRICK V–VI

Deep

Start with Violet + Blossom

Start with your blue and red, then bring in yellow to turn it into a rich, warm brown.
